Welcome – Trinity LGBT Staff Network

network

Welcome from the Trinity LGBT Staff Network! The Network is here as a resource for all staff members in the University who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or other sexualities/gender identities which are not heterosexual & cisgender.

The Network is open to LGBT staff members, allies and all staff with an interest in the LGBT+ community and endeavours to contribute to Trinity’s long history of innovation, excellence and trendsetting in a unique way.

The Network serves as many functions as there are interests of our members, and aims to act as a representative voice for LGBT staff, a professional network, a social outlet and a resource on LGBT+ issues.

If you are an LGBT member of staff, your experience in the University should be open to and enhanced by every aspect of your life, and the Network hopes to facilitate this by making you feel welcome and connected with your LGBT and non-LGBT colleagues.

You can learn more about the Network’s history and our committee in our About page.

Our Terms of Reference are available here.

You can also find out more about our activities by checking out our events and following us on social media.

The Network is driven from the ground up by the needs and interests of its members. If you have any suggestions or contributions you would like to make, please feel very welcome to contact us and get involved.

Yours in Pride,

Joel McKeever

About

The Trinity LGBT Staff Network was founded in December 2015 by a group of staff members interested in connecting the LGBT community on campus, socialising, sharing experiences and representing the voice of the staff in university business and policy making. Membership of the Network is open to any staff member interested in the LGBT community.

With support from the Equality Office, the Director of Diversity & Inclusion and Human Resources, a number of successful initial meetings and events were organised including an Éigse Thuar Ceatha / Trinity Rainbow Celebration, organised by the Irish Language Office and initial proposers of the network in collaboration with An Cumann Gaelach and Q Soc – Trinity LGBT, and an event celebrating the anniversary of the same-sex marriage referendum.

Most recently, the Network held a town hall meeting to agree on the Terms of Reference for the Network and elect its inaugural committee for the 2016/17 academic year.

You can learn more about the Network’s committee members here.

More about our upcoming events can be found here.
